Judging

Awards are determined by a panel of artists, educators, and other professionals. Prizes may not be awarded in all categories if the judges feel that the entries do not meet the standards of The Shortie Awards – Student Film & News Festival.  Likewise, judges may choose to give special recognition in subcategories of film.  The first rubric is used to assess all film submissions, and the second is used to evaluate the Daily News Program category.

Awards & Festival Ceremony

Finalists in all categories will be notified in May 2010.  Winners will be announced and awards presented at the festival ceremony in June 2010 in the Washington, DC metro area.
